Diamond Bar High School Students and Parents,
It is with mixed emotions that I write you this afternoon with an update on some leadership transitions for Diamond Bar High School.
Pending board approval next week, I will be serving as the Director of Counseling, College, and Career Pathways with the Monrovia Unified School District. This promotion is a great opportunity to partner with the students, staff, and parents of the community to prepare Monrovia's students for college and career readiness. Although I am very sad to leave Diamond Bar High School after 16 years as a teacher, GLC, Instructional Dean, Assistant Principal, and Principal, this position offers many new challenges and opportunities to apply what I have learned in my doctoral studies at USC.
The search to find a new principal will begin shortly. As you know, Diamond Bar High School is an excellent school with a wonderful reputation and there will be no shortage of qualified candidates. In the meantime, Mr. Denis Paul, former DBHS principal and original Brahma, has agreed to serve as the interim principal until the new principal is selected.
I would like to thank all of you for your support for the school, the staff, and all DBHS programs. Your participation and assistance have helped to create one of the best schools in the state and in the nation! Diamond Bar High is a school that reflects the value that the community places on a well-rounded educational experience that prepares students for rigorous academic coursework and post-secondary success.
Diamond Bar High School benefits from an impressive partnership among the community, parents, staff, and students and I am confident in DBHS’ continued success as we prepare your students to achieve their college and career dreams.
Sincerely,
Catherine Real,
Principal,
