Hello Brahmas,
WEEK 5 – September 12 - September 16, 2016
Reflection:
The start of our 5th week of school has been met with sadness and somber remembrance. This morning we learned of a 2015 DBHS graduate, who tragically passed away in a car accident yesterday. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the former DBHS student's family during this difficult time. Though the student graduated a few years ago, please keep a close eye on your child and let us know if we can offer support. Our school psychologists, the Wellness Center, and GLCs are available to offer additional student support.
Also, yesterday marked the 15-year anniversary of September 11 terrorist attacks in 2001. Thanks to DBHS junior, Rhiston Yu, and a group of students who planted 2,977 flags on Friday at DBHS representing those who died on September 11. The project was called “9-11 Never Forget” and also included juniors, Thomas Yip, and William Liang. Special thanks to DBHS teachers, Peter Kottke, and Ty Watkins for their support and guidance with the project.
I am reminded of the importance and value we are to each other. I am thankful for our Brahma community and the support we show each other in the good times and when times are tough. Thanks for coming together!
