Principal's Memo - Week 13

Hello Brahmas,

WEEK 13 – November 7 – November 10, 2016

It is almost here…election day is tomorrow Tuesday, November 8! No matter what your political persuasion, make sure you get to the polls and vote! Speaking of voting, last week our students exercised their voting power and elected the 2017 USB Executive Board. Congratulations to President - Hailey Shi, Vice President - Christian Park, Secretary - Angela Zhang, Finance Director - Austin Hyun, Speaker of the House - Rishil Pansuria, IOC Chairperson - Melody Lee. I am looking forward to working with these student-leaders in support of our school!

Reflection:

If you were not able to see Journey to the West last weekend, you missed an amazing show! Our Arts program shined for four nights as our Drama students filled the theater with creativity and laughter. Special thanks to Drama Director Beatrice Casagran, Stagecraft & Theater Manager Jacob Kaitz and Stagecraft Teacher Dexter Rodgers for putting together an outstanding production!

In Athletics, our Girls Tennis and Girls Volleyball teams ended their seasons last week. Congratulations to Alexis Feix(Tennis) and Katie Swetnam (Volleyball) for qualifying for CIF playoffs and finishing the year strong. Another example of a strong finish goes to our Head Football Coach, Marcus Hughes. Coach Hughes ended the Varsity Football season with a Palomares League victory against Bonita! In addition, we have two teams still competing, Boys Water Polo and Girls Golf. They continue their quests in CIF playoffs this week. Thanks to Water Polo Coach Alex Matal and Golf Coach Tony McCabe for their leadership and support of our student-athletes.

I am especially proud of our student-performing artists and student-athletes who perform and compete on such a high level while continuing to excel in the classroom! Go Brahmas!
