Rock Out! ‘That 80’s Show’ concert coming to DBHS on Mar. 17

Our talented Commercial Music students are set to perform over 20 chart-topping songs including Sweet Dreams – Eurythmics, Seek and Destroy – Metallica, Don’t You Forget About Me– Simple Minds, Whip It – Devo, Livewire – Motley Crue, One Way Or Another – Blondie, and I Ran – Flock of Seagulls. Special guest Oingo Boingo bassistJohn Avila will join the show during Dead Man's Party.

Reflection:

Last weekend, our Publications students competed in the high school journalism Write-Offs. I am pleased to share that we won the overall Newspaper Sweepstakes award (for the second time in three years)! Thanks Mr. Doug List for your leadership and the professionalism you are teaching our journalism students. Congratulations to our 1^st place finishers: Junior Brian Chang (for news), senior Michelle Ki (for features) and senior Bernard Chen (newspaper layout). Seniors Stuart Kusdono, Eric Hong and Calvin Ru; juniors Sophia Kim, Ryan Chae, Pauline Villegas, Hannah Lee and Catherine Zhang; and sophomores Cindy Liu and Amelie Lee also finished in the top 10 in their category! Additionally, our two Yearbook teams made up of Claire Medina, Elena Deng, Jeremy Kim, Shing Lin, Joseline Chang, Jacolyn Yang, Tulasi Murthy and Sarah Lim finished in the Top 10 in both yearbook categories. Great job Brahmas!

Also last weekend, our Diamond Bar Brahma Orchestra finished first in the National Festival for the American String Teachers Association. Our students performed Tchaikovsky’s 6th symphony and did an outstanding job! Thanks so much Mr. Acciani and Ms. Sato.
