GLC NEWS AND NOTES ISSUE #15
May 19, 2017
Class of 2017 Students and Parents: Well, we made it through the last day of classes for our seniors. Now we just have to successfully make it through a great week of senior activities culminating with our Graduation Ceremony. See you on Thursday.
PLEASE READ CAREFULLY.
1. BEHAVIOR: Please discuss with your senior student the importance of appropriate behavior at the remaining senior events. It would be terrible for a student to lose a senior activity or their graduation ceremony due to a poor decision and poor actions.
2. Seniors are not to be on the DBHS Main Campus from Monday, May 22 through Thursday, May 25 during the regular school day- 8:00 am to 3:00 pm. The exception to this will be for Graduation Practices, which will start in the gymnasium, and any class-sponsored senior activities. If your student needs to take care of school business, it must be done before 8:00 am and/or after 3:00 pm. We don’t want seniors to jeopardize their senior-week activities.
MANDATORY GRADUATION PRACTICES ARE ON TUESDAY AND WEDNESDAY May 23-24 STARTING PROMPTLY AT 8:00 am. Discuss with your senior the importance of attending these MANDATORY practices and arriving well before 8:00 am to the DBHS gymnasium. The sooner we all gather and practice, the sooner the seniors can go home on these two days.
3. SENIOR SURVEY-We Still have about 130 seniors who still need to complete the Senior Survey!
PARENTS-PLEASE ENCOURAGE YOUR STUDENT TO COMPLETE THIS SURVEY!!
All seniors were given the opportunity last week at the Seniors Principal meeting to complete the Online Senior Survey. We want to know your senior’s plans for the future. It is very important that each senior complete this Senior Survey. It only takes about 5-10 minutes to complete.
The survey is on the DBHS Website under Senior Reminders.
4. FINAL HIGH SCHOOL TRANSCRIPT SENT TO UNIVERSITIES:
Seniors who need to send final transcripts to their college/university must do so through www.parchment.com. You can also access PARCHMENT via our school website, www.dbhs.org. Look for the STUDENTS Menu on the homepage and click on Transcripts.
It is the student’s responsibility to request/send a final high school transcript to their destination college. Diamond Bar High School FINAL TRANSCRIPTS (Final Transcripts include All grades and a Graduation Date) will be ready to request and be sent starting Monday, June 5, 2017. If you request your FINAL TRANSCRIPT to be sent prior to Monday, June 5, 2017 you will not be sending your final transcript-it will not have ALL grades posted and will not include the Graduation Date. STUDENTS MUST WAIT UNTIL JUNE 5, 2017 TO REQUEST/SEND TRANSCRIPTS VIA PARCHMENT. There is a fee, payable online, to send this final transcript via Parchment.
