Hello Brahma Parents and Guardians,
Last week was a short week in honor of Veteran’s Day. Special thanks to our Brahma staff members who served in the Military, Mr. Kurt Davies (Social Science teacher), Mr. Albert Lim (Athletic Director), and Mr. Jim Salyer (Social Science teacher). We are so grateful for their service!
*Math Madness Update: We did it! First time in school history, our MATHLETES advanced to the “Sweet Sixteen”! We are ranked 22nd in the Nation! Our next competition is this Wednesday, November 15 @ 3:35 pm. You will be able to see how our score progresses against the other team’s score—in real time. Also, last week we received word that our 2017 Yearbook is one of the CSPA Crown Finalists! This means that the book will win a Gold or Silver Crown. Special thanks to our Yearbook Advisor, Stacy Tenace and the Yearbook Staff! The awards will be announced in New York in March, 2018.
Community Update: There are several construction projects (some including closure) planned for the 60 Freeway beginning Tuesday, November 14. Please click HERE to read the details of how the closures may impact you. Just in case, allow extra time and leave your house early.
Updates and Reminders:
- Friday, December 15 - Any female student interested in attending the Girls Build LA Leadership Summit at the Los Angeles Convention Center, please see your GLC for a permission slip. They keynote speaker will be Hillary Rodham Clinton. Space is limited! Bus transportation and lunch will be provided (departure will be at 6am and return approximately at 3pm). The deadline to sign up and submit a permission slip is thisThursday, November 16. Return the completed permission slip to you GLC.
- Boys Tennis Tryouts for the 2018 spring season will be held November 28 - 30, 2017, from 3:10 to 4:30 pm at the DBHS Tennis Courts. Successful prospects must demonstrate effective tennis skills at a high school Junior Varsity or Varsity Level. After selection, there may be individual follow up matches. It is highly recommended that returning players play at least 3 USTA tournaments between seasons.

Free Tutoring - CSF offers peer tutoring Monday - Thursday from 3:00pm – 4:30pm. Support available in all subjects.
