Brahma Named To Mt SAC Hall Of Fame

Marcell Torres (DBHS Class of 2000) will be inducted into the 2018 Mt. SAC Athletics Hall of Fame Saturday, February 10, at Pacific Palms. On Diamond Bar High’s softball team she played Pitcher, 3rd base/utility. Was awarded a Full Athletic Scholarship to UCLA 2000-2001, played right field for the Bruins and finished 2nd at the College World Series.

 

In 2002-2003 attended Mt. San Antonio Community College. Played Pitcher and 3rd base for the Mounties. Received "Pitcher of the Year", "MVP", 1st Team All-American and won the 1st State Championship in the 2003 season. Graduated from Mt. SAC with an A.A in Liberal Arts in 2003.

 

Was awarded a Full Athletic Scholarship to CSULB 2003-2005. Played Pitcher, 3rd base and 1st base for the 49ers. Received "Pitcher of the Week" 4 times throughout the 2004 season. Received "Pitcher of the Year" for the 2005 season. Made 1st Team All-Conference in 2004 and 2005. Graduated from CSULB with a BA in Sociology.

 

She later became the Assistant Softball Coach and Professor at Mt. San Antonio Community College. She has since moved to San Diego where she lives with her family.
