This past weekend in Fresno, California, DBHS junior, Ryker Cook, took top honors in the All State Honor Band. Competing in a second round of auditions against eleven other alto saxophone players from around the State of California, Ryker garnered the first chair of the highly presitigious All State High School Wind Symphony. The group, directed by Dr. Mallory Thompson from Northwestern University, performed pieces by Shostakovich, Grainger, and Whitacre.
