Derick Tom , the number two seed at the Sierra League Tennis tournament, defeated Josh Barnard of Glendora, 6-1, 6-0, to become the Sierra League Singles Champion. Derick defeated Tomas Aranguiz of Ayala in a semifinals match while at the same time Josh Barnard defeated the top seed, Philip Kozan from Diamond Bar in a three and a half hour battle, 7-6, 4-6, 6-4. Philip tried to outlast Josh but had to battle illness and leg cramps at the same time.
