During the weekend of February 9, our Diamond Bar High Science Olympiad Team participated at the Golden Gate Invitational Competition at UC Berkeley. Out of the 51 teams that participated from California, Nevada, Hawaii and Florida, our DBHS Scioly team was successful in finishing in 12th place overall. The team competed in 23 events. Our team placed in the top 6 in 3 of the 23 science events.

1st place – Codebusters: Jeremy Gan, Karissa Wong, Keshav Sriram, 
1st place – Boomilever: Sean Ru, Wilson Zhu
3rd place – Chemistry Lab: Jay Siri, Jeremy Gan

Special thanks to Mr. Marquez and club adviser Mrs. Daza for attending this competition with the team, as well as the parents who helped with the planning and preparation for the trip. The next competition will be the Science Olympiad Regional Competition on February 23, 2019 at Rio Hondo College – Go Brahmas!
