Class Policies

In order to provide a classroom environment that encourages optimum learning opportunities for all students, the teacher Expects the students to follow the school's guidelines for behavior as well as these expectations for behavior.
 
    1. Be on time to class and in your seat when the bell rings.
    2. Refrain from eating and/or drinking in class.
    3. Follow the directions of the teacher.
    4. Show respect for people and property.
    5. Raise your hand if you have something to say or if you need help.
 
If the student cannot comply with these expectations, the teacher will:
 
    1. Remind the student.
    2. Have a teacher - student conference.
    3. Refer to the grade - level coordinator.
    4. Have a parent conference.
 
    Severity Clause: Acts of defiance and fighting will be immediately referred to the grade-level coordinator.
 
I expect you to be on time to class everyday, if you are tardy, the school wide tardy policy will be enforced. Please refer to The Diamond Bar High School Calendar for the tardy policy.
 
         Help Keep the Classroom Clean and Orderly
 
    1. Leave your table area clean. Report to the teacher any marks of gum left on your
    table by a previous student.
    2. Return all items used during class time to their appropriate places.
    3. To make sure that the above requests are complied with, I will dismiss the class
    only when the class is seated and quiet. The bell does not
    dismiss you, I do.
 
         Late Work, Absences, and Make-up Work
 
    1. No late work will be accepted for daily assignments. Assignments worth 30
    points or more may be turned in with a 5-point penalty for everyday it is late. You
    have 3 school days after the due date to turn in a late assignment. Late
    assignments will not be accepted after this time period.
    2. Students who have legitimate absences may turn in make-up work.
