Tanya Yang Receives $40,000 Edison Scholarship
Featured
Wednesday, March 21, representatives from Southern California Edison surprised Brahma senior Tanya Yang with a $40,000 Southern California Edison International Scholarship check.
Edison Scholars recognizes students who want to be makers of tomorrow – the dreamers, inventors, guardians and pioneers – those who dare to be great.
Tanya has been accepted to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and plans to major in chemical engineering. She is a valedictorian candidate who is involved in orchestra, robotics and Science Olympiad.
Each year, Edison International awards $40,000 scholarships to 30 high school seniors who want to make a difference in the world by studying science, technology, engineering or math (STEM) in college.
From helping to prevent the rise of ocean levels to increasing access to solar power in under served communities, real issues need bright ideas to create change. This is a chance for students to stand up, advance their education, and be part of the solution.
