  Monday, March 19, DBHS junior Jeremy Davis was heard nationally on National Public Radio's "FROM THE TOP". The host, Christopher O'Riley, interviewed a few young musicians who had won national instrumental music awards. (This posted video is an edited version of that show.)
  
  As the winner of the prestigious Jack Kent Cooke Young Artist Award this year, Jeremy received a $10,000 scholarship. Davis first knew of the opportunity through DBHS band director Steve Acciani, who encouraged him to try out.
  
  The scholarship, awarded to five exemplary musicians in the nation, was given to students based on recordings they sent in.
  
  With the money, Davis plans to buy the assorted instruments he needs because unlike other musicians, percussionists need to master a variety of instruments.

  This week was STAFF APPRECIATION WEEK at Diamond Bar High School. Our UNITED STUDENT BODY showed their appreciation throughout the week. Monday, our staff was treated to donuts and Starbucks coffee. Tuesday, they were given care packages. Wednesday, they were pampered with massages provided by Massage Envy. Thursday, they were treated to a catered lunch where they viewed this video.

  Thank You, Community! The Diamond Bar High dbhsorg concert band under the direction of Marie Santos rehearses Tuesday in the world-class instrumental music building completed in February 2023. “Our new facilities have exceeded all the hopes and dreams we had when we first started planning!” shared music teacher Steve Acciani of the beautiful three-story building. “Watching our students thrive in an environment worthy of their incredible talent and work ethic is heartwarming.”
  
  The nearly $9.8 million construction of the towering 15,700 square-foot building was funded by voter support of Measure WV.

• 3:52 Brahmas At Cal-HOSA State Leadership Conference

  The weekend of March 18 & 19, fourteen DBHS students traveled to Sacramento to compete at the Cal-HOSA State Leadership Conference. This was the 30th anniversary conference attended by more than 3,000 Future Health Professionals from around the state. It was an intense weekend of leadership, engagement, and service. I want to thank all of our supporters and sponsors as this past weekend would not have been possible without your support.
  For the third year in a row our chapter experienced wonderful results in competitions and this year came away with more individuals recognized than in years past. Here is a summary of our students' achievement:

  The Diamond Bar High School Wellness Staff is committed to providing wellness education and resources, in addition to trained peer counselors who can assist students in a supportive environment in order to empower them to develop healthy strategies for personal management, improve school climate and promote academic success.
  
  
  DBHS Wellness Program Vision Statement
  
  The staff at Diamond Bar High School continually strives to be responsive to the educational needs of all of our students. We believe that the physical, emotional, social, intellectual, cultural, and spiritual dimensions of our students are the foundation of a well-balanced approach to academic success. Additionally, we acknowledge that adolescence can potentially be a challenging time, as well as an advantageous opportunity to positively affect our students' personal and academic functioning.
  In order for our students to be effective learners and grow into productive, well-adjusted adults, they must learn how to be more resilient by taking ownership and responsibility for their own wellness. The DBHS Wellness Center will be a safe, nonjudgmental space available for all students who wish to seek additional support and/or access to wellness services, education, and resources. Furthermore, the wellness program will endeavor to develop and evolve to remain responsive to the changing wellness needs and trends of our school community.
  
  
  DBHS Wellness Center is located in Room # 254 and opened in January 2016.
